Train providers are sometimes forced to change their train schedules for operational reasons or force majeure.
If your booking is affected by a change, you will be informed by the train provider and they will indicate how to proceed to find the most suitable option available for you. Many of these changes are minor schedule changes, which don’t require confirmation from the passenger.
In case this change affects your hotel accommodation, please contact the hotel directly with the new details found in the email.
Compensation for Delays
If your journey is significantly delayed, you may be entitled to compensation. According to Article 19 of EU Regulation 2021/782, passengers have a right to a refund based on the length of the delay:
- 25% of the ticket price for delays between 60 and 119 minutes.
- 50% of the ticket price for delays of 120 minutes or more.
Compensation policies can vary by train provider, so it's essential to check the specific conditions of your ticket. You should contact the train provider directly to submit a claim for compensation.
My train is cancelled as part of a travel package
Please note that if your train journey is part of a travel package (train + hotel), it’s protected under Directive (EU) 2015/2302. In the event of a cancellation of a key part of your travel package, this directive provides specific protections regarding alternative arrangements or refunds. We’ll contact you with instructions to follow in such circumstances.
